David Farahi

Farahi rejoined Monarch Casino & Resort (Parent company of Monarch Growth inc.) in 2007; coming back to the business his Grandfather founded in 1972, to continue his career in the gaming and hospitality industry. The company’s Black Hawk property was purchased by Monarch in April of 2012 when Farahi was dispatched to lead the team in the integration of the new asset. The Black Hawk property has been completely redesigned and is on the cusp of opening its $300,000,000 resort expansion which will open in 2020.

Farahi cut his teeth in the hospitality business at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno NV, the parent company’s flagship property and AAA rated 4 Diamond Destination Resort. Both at the Reno property and now the Black Hawk property, his focus has been on improving the guest’s gaming experience through an analytic approach to every department from Table Games to Spa, with a particular focus on the Slot department, think Money Ball for slot machines. Prior to rejoining the family business in 2007, Farahi worked in finance for HSBC Bank Plc in London, Geneva and New York.

Farahi is currently in his third term as the President of the Colorado Gaming Association and sits on the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. Farahi is also a member of Colorado Concern, as well as the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Young President’s Organization. Farahi was formally a board member for the Reno Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board, Nevada State FBLA Board of Trustees and the Reno Bike Project Board of Trustees. He was honored by the Reno Gazette Journal with their 20 under 40 award in 2013, Global Gaming Enterprise magazine with their 40 under 40 award in 2015 and the Denver Business Journal with their 40 Under 40 Award in 2020. Farahi was formally a board member of JEWISHColorado as well as the Colorado Jewish Community Relations Council, where he was recognized with their 2015 Young Leadership Award.

Farahi enjoys skiing, basketball and traveling to lessor known corners of the world. Mr. Farahi earned an MBA from Columbia Business School with concentrations in both Real Estate and Finance, as well as a BA in Economics and International Studies from Northwestern University, earning Dean’s List honors from both institutions.
