Jay joined Westerra Credit Union as President and CEO in December of 2018. Headquartered in Cherry Creek, Westerra was founded in 1934 as the Denver Public Schools Credit Union, making it one of the longest-running extant state-chartered financial institutions in Colorado, providing a wide range of financial services to individuals, families, and businesses along the Front Range. Under Jay’s leadership, Westerra currently serves 112,000 members with ten branches across the Denver metropolitan area
Before taking the helm at Westerra, Jay served as Chief Operating Officer of Elevations Credit Union in Boulder for eight years, having moved to Colorado from Texas, where he held lending and market leadership positions with community and regional banks and credit unions in the Dallas area. Jay has a long history of community service, having retained board positions with Community Food Share of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, Boulder Country Day School, and the Texas A&M University Commerce Foundation. He also serves as a University of Colorado Leeds School of Business MBA mentor.
Jay earned his B.S. in Economics, and an MBA in Finance and Management from Texas A&M Commerce, and is a graduate of Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
Jay and his wife, Dianna, a former elementary school teacher and principal are fortunate to be the parents of son Jason and daughter Meredith. His interests and hobbies include fly fishing, skiing, cycling, cooking, reading, entertaining, and traveling with family.
